Back to School with Box Tops

The end of summer is drawing near. As much as I love the vacation time, popsicles, slip & slides and s’mores in the backyard (and all the other things that make up summer) I’m ready for school to start.

My kids have been driving me CRAZY.

I totally bribed them with milkshakes and root beer floats to get them to take this picture for me! Worth it!

And I know I’m not the only one!

I’m so ready for a routine, early bedtimes and the fun of back to school shopping!

Along with back to school shopping for clothes and supplies, I’ve been making a list of items I need to restock my pantry.

Box Tops

Did you know you can help your school by clipping Box Tops for Education from everyday items? Reynolds Kitchens and Hefty products both offer Box Tops, what an easy way to stock up and help out!

I grabbed the slow cooker liners because my crockpot is a lifesaver during the school year. I love the set and forget method of cooking! Plus using the liners makes for easy clean up. Can’t beat that!Box Tops

I also bought Hefty trash bags and foam bowls. I don’t know about you but we’re in declutter mode over here and will probably need every trash bag we can get our hands on!

Box Tops Don’t judge! 😉 It’s been a very long year.

Okay so here’s the real question…

Anyone else feel guilty at the beginning of the school year because you can’t or don’t sign up as a volunteer? I’ve always felt guilty for not helping out the school as much as I thought I could.

I’d be over it by the middle of the school year, of course!

But still! The fact that I’m missing out on volunteer opportunities (because of work) and fun ways to help out the school always weighed on my mind at the beginning of the school.

I don’t feel guilty anymore though. I know that I’ll surely help when I can, I donate extra items like tissues and party stuff every year. And I clip Box Tops like it’s my full time job.

But remember it’s not my full time job, otherwise I’d be volunteering at the school. You know, in an “ideal world!”

I keep a little plastic baggie with a small pair of scissors and Box Tops attached to the side of my fridge with magnets. When it’s full or the kids bring home those sheets to fill up, we grab the bag and donate those perfectly-cut-by-mom Box Tops.

Here’s some positive thinking for you while you’re out shopping: May the lines be short & the savings be tall!

Enjoy the rest of the summer, friend!
