Easiest Way to Cook Spaghetti Squash

Happy Friday!

I am so glad it’s Friday. For one I am off on Fridays-woohoo!  And two, we are putting up our Christmas Tree tonight. I love putting up the tree while listening to Christmas music and sipping on cocoa. I am so excited 🙂 And I am really wondering how many of the ornaments my 2 yr old will mess up or break this year! We’ll see……

Today I wanted to show you how I make spaghetti squash. I love spaghetti squash because it takes the place of noodles for us. We are working towards eating healthy and have cut out processed foods as much as possible. This squash makes it possible for us to enjoy buttered “noodles” or spaghetti and I even make baked spaghetti with it. I have been doing low carb off and on for a month or so. I lost about 3 lbs since last week which is awesome considering we just had Thanksgiving!

Easy Spaghetti Squash

Step 1:

With a fork pierce your squash all around. I do about four “pokes” on each side of the squash. Exactly what you do when you make baked potatoes. Place in slow cooker.

Step 2:

Put your slow cooker on high, and set a timer for 3 hours.

Step 3:

Carefully remove the very hot spaghetti squash! Place on plate or cutting board. Cut open squash from top to bottom. You will see the seeds. With a spoon, simply spoon them right out.

Step 4:

With a fork fluff through and you will see the “noodles” use them in place of regular noodles. Or add in some olive oil or butter and some seasoning and poof awesome, healthy side dish! Even my 2 yr old loves them!  I use this easy homemade pasta sauce recipe to make these “noodles” into a meal or side dish.
