Praying When You Feel Overwhelmed or Afraid

There are many, many times in my life when I feel stressed, overwhelmed and not-good-enough. Those negative feelings and emotions drain me and leave me feeling hopeless and tired. As a mother and wife, I need and want to be at my best. When I am drained the relationship with my family changes- I yell when I should be patient, or act negatively when I should be the example of Jesus to my family. These bible verses below have helped change my perspective when I feel overwhelmed and fearful of the future.

Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with life. I'm sure you do too. You don't know where to turn for a moment. Prayer is always the best way to turn. These are some of my favorite bible verses that remind me who God is to me and how much I am loved.

These verses give me comfort and remind me that God is the one in control. He will guide you, watch over you and never leave you. If you are feeling frazzled and stressed take a moment to pray and reflect on some of these verses today.

Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.

Psalm 143:8   Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

Psalm 25:4  Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.

Ephesians 4: 31-32  Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.

Matthew 11:28  Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Isaiah 43:2  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass though the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set your ablaze.

Isaiah 41:13 For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
