Did you know there’s a new way to renew your contacts lens prescription without an appointment? Game-changer right? You bet!
One of my least favorite things is going to the eye doctor. Why you ask? This may sound weird, especially since I went through labor and childbirth twice – but I’m afraid of the machine that fiercely thrusts those puffs of air into my eyeballs.
Yes. I am being totally serious. I don’t like that air puffer machine, I get anxiety and I plead my case to the office staff who try to get me to sit still. I try to explain how there is just no way I can sit still. No matter what I always blink and after a few tries they give up on me.
I’ve had glasses since I was a kid and contacts since I was a teen so I’ve had my fair share of appointments, glasses, contacts and yes – time with that dreaded air puffer. But that is all changing with the 1-800 Contacts ExpressExam!
You can take the online vision exam in your own home using your phone and get your contacts shipped out within 1 business day.
I found the online vision exam super easy to take especially since the app guides you along each step.
After your exam you’ll need to upload a picture of your current contacts prescription (or manually enter) and once your exam is complete and the prescription is renewed by the doctor you’ll be ready to order your contacts.
I truly appreciated how easy it was to order my contacts. No driving to the eye doctor, no waiting, no time-wasting and best of all no air puffer in my eye.
With the time I saved we went out as family and visited my parents who live in downtown San Antonio. We spent time in their new apartment, walked to dinner on the riverwalk and watched a beautiful light show at the San Fernando Cathedral.
Head over to 1-800-Contacts and take your ExpressExam to skip the doctor’s office and renew your prescription. You will love seeing how much time and money you save!

I’ve ordered from 1800Contacts before, but that was before they did the eye exam. This is great, but I wonder if it still tests things like astigmatism because mine is constantly changing.
Okay Crystal, now you make me feel normal again. I thought I was the only one scared of eye examination and all the stuff that my ophthalmologist is doing to my eyes. This app is truly a game changer.
Oh wow! This seems so convenient to just contact 1 800 contacts and consider it all done. I don’t wear contacts but I”m sure this is a quick blessing to so many people these days!
interesting app! I always find it so annoying when i have to arrange a meeting with some doctor and i have to do it for a week after and then wait there.

Wow, I’ve not heard of this before… I can see it would save time but I would be concerned that any changes in my eye health would not be picked up!

This is very convenient. And I’m afraid of the eye doctor too lol! I hate it when he pokes my eyes to measure pressure.
That sounds really helpful and brilliant. I don’t need contacts but If I had to, this app would save me so much time.
Ok now this is awesome! I am not afraid to go to the eye doctor or anything. But often too lazy to make an appointment and go out there.
You look beautiful with contact lenses in and no I didn’t know you don’t need an appointment I thought you did for everything nowadays
I don’t wear contact lens but this is great. And it’s convenient for anyone who owns a pair.
WHAT?!? No way!!! That is crazy! I always put off my eye exam not because I’m afraid of the machine, but because I’m a busy WAHM and my eye doctor (the only one in the area I like, and believe me I’ve tried plenty) is several towns away! So will have to consider this for next time I’m due for a refill!
This would be great if i didbt wear speciality contacts. I have to get mine custom made. Could I use this service for thhat as well?
