3 Books I read in may

May was a busy month. Between work, blog projects, pulling my daughter out of daycare and keeping her home and 1 weekend getaway, I didn’t get to read as many books as I wanted to.

But – I did read a book that SERIOUSLY changed my parenting style and helped change my youngest daughter’s negative behaviors.

books I read in may

1. Lightning by Dean Koontz

You’ll notice my copy is tattered, this book is old – I think I got it when I was in 6th grade! My son found a box of my Dean Koontz books in the garage and brought them in. I had so much fun looking over the books and picking out some old favorites to read. This was one of them. This book is a mix of time travel and life lessons. Definitely one of my favorites.

2. Have a new kid by friday

This book is the best book on parenting I have ever read. There is so much real, loving and practical advice on raising kids. I’ve already convinced two of my friends to buy this based on my testimony of how my daughter is responding! I used to wonder how in the heck the daycare ladies would get my daughter to nap. She has NEVER napped for me. Ever.

Check this out. That’s my baby napping.

Bedtime (and nap time) was always a battle, because we chose to co-sleep she was dependent on one of us telling her a story (nothing wrong with that,) rubbing her back, rubbing her belly (by now my hands hurting) and basically staying in bed until she finally fell asleep. By then I was either asleep or too annoyed to get up and do anything.

This book is a game-changer for sure!

3.Real Magic: Ancient Wisdom, Modern Science, and a Guide to the Secret Power of the Universe

I like to listen to books on Audible while I’m working. This book wasn’t an easy listen. I was super interested in the topic, I’ll admit the “magic” part is a little woo-woo. But, basically this book explains how powerful our minds are! There’s tons of scientific experiments and historical facts that kinda bored me on some parts. Not sure if I’d listen again. But if you’re interested it’s out there!

You can check out my favorite books on my Amazon Shop page.
