4th of July Picture Ideas

I love celebrating all the holidays with my kids and sometimes I get stressed trying to get that perfect holiday picture! So this is what happens each year, during the holidays, or birthdays I am frantically trying to get the right pictures and getting a little stressed out. Not being able to enjoy the moment. This year I picked out some simple props from the Dollar Tree to set up a 4th of July Picture photo shoot for Gabby. Read on for 4th of July picture ideas.

Simple 4th of July Picture Ideas

To avoid the frantic, stressed-out mom mode I get into during the holidays I did something different this year: I planned a mini photo shoot with Gabby. Gabby’s birthday is on July 3rd and I love dressing her up in 4th of July clothes and accessories. The problem is each year I don’t plan ahead and I don’t get very good photographs of her.

This year I found simple (and cheap!) props at the Dollar Tree:

  • Red, white and blue fairy wings
  • USA wand
  • Sunglasses
  • Crown

Total cost for props: $4.00

Next, we took pictures in my bedroom against a white wall. At this point I used the camera on my phone: Galaxy S9. I love the camera on the Galaxy better than my Iphone 6 Plus.

The outdoor pictures were taken with my Sony A5100. I am not a professional photographer in any way, shape or form. But, I did take this photography course and I highly recommend it because I’ve been able to take better pictures for my blog and of my kids and family.
