Crafting With Kids For Valentine’s Day

This post is sponsored by Oriental Trading Company. Big thank you to them for sending out Valentine’s Day crafts, I worked with them here and here and here and am loving Oriental Trading for party supplies!

Valentine’s day is coming up and today I’m going over simple ways to have fun crafting with your kids for Valentine’s Day.

I ordered bookmarks to add into our Vday crafting. We’ve been reading a lot more around here.

My kids love Dork Diaries and the Percy Jackson series. And I love the fact that they’re actually reading and asking for more time to read.

They kids can color the bookmarks, add the red fabric on top and they have a new bookmark and plenty to giveaway to friends. The designs on these bookmarks are related to Valentine’s Day.

My kids love playing BINGO. I don’t know what it is about BINGO but they are hooked. Even my older nephews (teenage years) enjoy playing BINGO.

I ordered this cute Valentine BINGO set. This will be fun to play on family game nights leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Oriental Trading has lots of options for Valentine’s Day cards to pass out at school.

I chose the friendship bracelet for my daughter to pass out and the army guys for my son. I feel like these are fun and a nice break from passing out candy.

Candy. I used these as BINGO prizes

My husband and I recently read The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman and we both immensely enjoyed the book.

I had the kids take the love language quiz online and we realized Quality Time was very important for both of our older kids.

Taking time to craft and play with them shows them love and they have fun.

We usually celebrate Valentine’s Day early and spend February 14th with the kids. In the past, we’ve walked around the mall with them or went out for fast food (every other place is packed!)

This year, I think we’ll stay in and have a family game night.

  2. We haven’t done much to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year- but there’s still time!! I do love Oriental Trading and the fact that you guys put together Valentines without candy. Between Halloween and Christmas, I still have a full bucket of candy and seriously don’t need anymore. (And my daughter LOVES Dork Diaries, too!!)
