Did you have a family dog when you were a kid? Growing up my parents had little patience for pets. We didn’t have any family dogs as little kids. I always envied the movies and tv show kids that had dogs. I loved Wishbone and wanted a smart doggie like Lassie!

In my mid 20’s my sister found an ad on Craigslist and found Chico, a yellow labrador. I can still remember the day I met Chico – my first thought was, “Man, he’s huge!” Chico was about 100 lbs of pure love!

I fell in love with Chico because look at him, first of all, he’s a great protector. He’s huge, barks SUPER loud and anyone that looks at him (and doesn’t know him) is scared!

Chico lives with my family now. My sister and I joke that we share custody of Chico. And the truth is I can’t live without him. Chico is a big part of my everyday joy and his love brings our family together!

Chico has some funny tendencies:

  • He howls whenever a kid is crying. Which sounds sweet right? Until you add a newborn in the house. OMG…That was a rough time for us!
  • Chico follows me around the house ALL.DAY.LONG. I go to the bathroom, Chico goes to the bathroom. I go to the kitchen, Chico goes to the kitchen. You get the picture.
  • He is super jealous and he barks whenever he sees my husband hugging me.
Chico gets between us and tries to separate us when we hug!

I’d like to think Chico was jealous for me since I’ve known him longer, sadly though, nope he gets jealous of ME when I get close to my husband, Juan. For some reason Chico wildly adores Juan. It’s cute and annoying at the same time. I always tell Chico, “Hello, you met me first!”

Another thing Chico is funny with is playing with tennis balls. He wants us to throw the ball but he refuses to give it back so we can keep playing. Our playtime is usually short because he is a very stubborn dog!

For that reason I am making DIY Easy Dog Toys. These tennis balls wrapped inside of a sock will give me more opportunity to grab the toy and get Chico to give it back so I can throw it again.

DIY EASY DOG TOYS

This week we grabbed Chico the Kibbles ‘N Bits® Bacon and Steak Flavor Dry Dog Food at Dollar General. My son thought Chico might like to try a new flavor of dog food so this worked out perfectly. The bacon and steak flavor has chewy bits made with real meat and crunchy kibbles which is the perfect combination to keep Chico happy!

It’s also good to know that Kibble ‘N Bits are 100% complete and balanced for adult dogs.

We also bought Kibbles ‘N Bits® Homestyle Dry Dog Food.

To say that our dog is spoiled is an understatement. The entire family spoils him rotten especially since he is getting older. We definitely want to treasure all of the fun memories Chico brings to our family.

The Kibbles ‘N Bits® Bacon and Steak Flavor was a hit with Chico. I looked over and noticed him devouring the crunchy kibble and the soft meaty, bacon flavored bits! Kibbles ‘N Bits® has a variety of dog food such as homestyle, which has a hearty grilled beef and vegetable flavor. Your dog can count on the soft, chewy and crunchy combination of Kibbles N’ Bits® to keep his (or her) taste buds happy!
