It’s so easy to latch onto the negativity in the news, especially right now. And I don’t want that to happen to me or you. Today I’m sharing encouragement during the coronavirus outbreak.
I know there is so much uncertainty out in the world right now. Let’s talk about ways to process our thoughts and feelings and ultimately save our mental health!
Would you rather listen to a variation of this post?
Encouragement during the Coronavirus Outbreak
Let yourself feel.
Crazy stuff is going on right now. If you don’t let yourself feel you won’t be able to process your emotions!
It’s okay to cry, breakdown and feel scared.
Now is NOT the time to bottle up your feelings. Reach out to a trusted friend, your therapist or an online counseling service.
It’s absolutely normal to be scared of the unknown and it’s 100% okay to reach out for help.
Look for the good.
There is always something positive happening. Look for those stories. On social media follow accounts that share positivity. I’m personally staying away from Facebook as much as I can. For some reason that is the platform I see the most fake news on it’s so annoying to me!
Please be mindful about what you share and make sure you’re not sharing fake news. Fact check yo’self!
Find ways you can BE THE GOOD. Volunteer to foster a pet in your home. Or you can donate supplies to your local shelter.
Now is the time to learn new skills.
I signed up with skill share a few weeks ago and OMG there are so many classes on there!
I’ve learned or am learning:
- all about calisthenics
- dancing
- creating a digital planner
- drawing
- giving chair massages
- photography and editing
There are classes on business, art, watercolor, blogging, growing social media platforms and so much more! Sign up and get two months free.
Now is the time to get projects done around the house!
Remember last year when we all learned about Marie Kondo and wanted to organize our spaces but never did?
NOW IS THE TIME!!!!
We are stuck at home people and I don’t know about you but I HATE being in dirty, cluttered spaces.
Now you can:
- spring clean
- organize your closet
- try on your clothes and box up what you don’t like/what doesn’t fit
- weed the lawn, mow the lawn, plant a garden
- paint
- clean out your garage
- go through your kids toys and clothes
I hope this post was encouraging for you. And one more thing, please consider taking a break from social media if you’re feeling especially sensitive, anxious or triggered. I have had to unfollow quite a few accounts that were spreading fearful news or fake news. I know it’s smart to be informed but for me personally it’s not smart to be reading about the coronavirus all day long.
The entire world is going through a hard time. Please remember to be kind and stay positive!
How are you holding up? Let me know in the comments.
