Friday Favorites

I am so incredibly happy that it’s Friday. I feel like I haven’t written in sooooo long.

I was on vacation at the beginning of July so I gave myself some “time off” from the blog.

Then I took more “time off” when we got back from vacation because I had to adjust back to reality after being on vacation.

Ahhhh….and I’ve been so tired. And while that’s neither here nor there. I’m just letting ya know I didn’t fall off the face of the earth. I’m back and I’m happy to share my Friday Favs with you for the month of July!

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING

It’s called “The Be-Attitudes: Women and the Many Faces We Wear.” The book by Karen Elaine Stewart, really hit home for me. Karen openly shares about situations and other things she has struggled with as a wife and mother of nine. Yes 9 kids!

This book is meant to encourage us to look into our attitudes and offer us freedom, balance, forgiveness, healing, transformation and enrichment.

I feel like I was meant to be asked to review this book. I’ve been focusing on writing about positivity for a little over 1 year now. I share my struggles and wins with my readers. And this book helped me look deeper into the “whys.” Like, why I am feeling like this? Why am I acting like this? Why I am STILL struggling with this?

I cried when I read this  “Our attitudes can either reinforce or hinder our husbands. Wives, our hsubands can either be ‘broken’ and dismantled, or validated and healed, by the words that we speak into their lives.”

Those 2 sentences made me cry. I wrote in the book, here’s what I wrote, MAKES ME THINK OF EVERY MEAN THING I’VE SAID. MAKES ME CRY.

Deep breath.

So. If you are struggling with positivity, with your attitude, with the way you feel and talk to your husband and children, get this book! I’m serious. It’s $12.95 on Amazon and it’s a quick read that can change your outlook on life in the most positive way.

Be sure to have a notebook, pens and a highlighter hand when you read this, you’re going to want to write things down!

THE SOUND OF THUNDERSTORMS

I listen to this soundtrack of rainfall and thunder while I’m working. It helps because all of the “office noise” is drowned out and I am laser focused on my work.

The majority of my day is spent reading medical cases, but I can’t concentrate on reading if I’m listening to music with words. Otherwise I’ll just be singing along and not really paying attention to what I’m reading.

(I remember being a teenager and having the TV on, the radio on and reading at the same time no problem–where did my attention span go?)

If you have Amazon Prime, download the music app for your phone. There are tons of songs you can listen to for free with your prime membership. If you don’t have Amazon Prime yet you can try it FREE for 30 days.

A GREAT POST ON DECLUTTERING

Laura from The Turquoise Home shares about decluttering an entire room in 5 simples steps. I love the before and after pictures!

My closet is in need of a decluttering session. And so is the entire upstairs of my home. Don’t even get me started on my garage. Makes me cringe just thinking about it!
