I Found the Best #ThrowBacks Ever With Legacybox

This post is sponsored by Legacybox but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Isn’t it funny how looking back at old pictures can take you back in time? You can remember what you were feeling when you were in that part of your life. You can remember the person you were. Maybe remember the smells, sounds and feels of your childhood, and life as a young, new mom?

I have a huge plastic tub full of scrapbooks and tons of old photos of my family. Some of my favorite pictures are pictures of my nephews and my son when they were babies. My sister and I had kids about 9 months apart and became closer as we raised our boys together.

We moved out of state together. We did birthday parties together. We played games with the kids together. We cooked together. We cried together. We laughed together. There was always so much laughing.

I found pictures of birthday parties, beach days, and that time my sister and I both dyed our hair black (noooooo) and so many other moments I forgot about.

All of these pictures were sitting in the plastic tub in the garage for the last year! I live in Texas and it gets hot here. So I’m wondering how much longer they would have lasted in there.

It was really important for me to preserve the pictures of this special time in my life. A time when Hopie and I were new moms and we were figuring it all out together.

Back then it was hard to imagine a future where we didn’t live with or near each other and a future where I didn’t get to see my nephews every single day.

But that’s the future now. We live a few hours away from each other and we make due with summer visits, quick weekend trips and FaceTime calls daily.

I’m sad to know I miss out on the every day life of my nephews now, but I am so grateful for the strong family foundation we created so many years ago.

I used the Legacybox kit to convert all of these old pictures into a digital format that is easier to keep!

Legacybox is a simple way to convert all of your old pictures, tapes and films into digital files. You can throw in your old VHS tapes, camcorder tapes (we didn’t have any) and old slides.

After everything is converted into a digital file you’ll get your originals back plus a thumb drive, DVD or download of your files.

Here’s what I did with my Legacybox:

First, I lugged the plastic tub inside and got lost in ALL those pictures! After begging my 5 year old to leave the pictures alone I started sorting through the pictures quickly, making piles of 25 pictures and placing those in a plastic baggie.

Next, I added the Legacybox safety barcode stickers, used to track your items throughout the entire process, onto each bag and loaded all of the bags into the box

Last step – heading to the UPS store to send this box back!

I feel better knowing that the pictures are safely stored on a thumb drive and ready for me to look at anytime I want. Legacybox helped me get these amazing memories and sweet feelings into a digital format which is so easy to store and share.

I also received a download link to the pictures at the perfect time: when I was visiting my sister and the boys! My oldest nephew Joshua and I sat on the floor laughing at all the old pictures. Josh also told me he remembered how much time he spent with me and how much fun it was. **I’m tearing up right now, guys….**

So yes…I’m so grateful that I can share these pictures with my family in such an easy way instead of worrying (and feeling guilty) about these same pictures getting ruined in the garage!

If you’ve got pictures, old films or family videos sitting around somewhere you can turn them into lasting memories too! Check out Legacybox and get 40% off your Legacybox purchase with code ‘CHERISH
