27 Things To Do When You Feel Sad

This post is part of my series in positivity. Each week I’ll be back with a new post that chronicles what I’m doing to stay positive and ways you can be positive too. Last week we talked about choosing to look at the bright side of things. This week I thought it’d be fun to put together a fun list of things to do when you feel sad.

Feeling sad is a normal part of life. We feel sadness when we lose friends, family members, pets, when things just don’t go our way. Or we’re having a bad day. And that’s ok. I’m not saying you shouldn’t feel sad.

What I am saying is you don’t have to stay stuck in the sadness and let it mold into negativity. You’d be surprised how easy it is for negativity to creep in when you’re sad. It happens to me! I get all crazy, feel like the whole world is ending and I act like a psycho. For real. My husband is the only one who can talk me back into reality and remind me that things always work out. It's totally normal to feel sad, I found this list of things to do when you feel sad. I love how easy some of these are. Pin Now!

27 Things to do When You Feel Sad

If you can, go for a walk. If you live near water, walk along the water. If you live by trails, take a nature walk. Or just walk along your neighborhood. Just get outside. Breathe in fresh air.

Read your bible. These are some of my favorite passages when I feel overwhelmed.

Call a friend. Here’s the thing though. Don’t call a friend and talk about all your problems. No. Instead call a friend and ask about their day. Listen, encourage and be happy for them. That happiness will rub off on you.

  8. Great tips! Sadness, if not treated, can consume us. One must know that life is a journey of good times and bad times. Nothing lasts forever and eventually everything will fall into places.
