Our Dogs Love Now Fresh Pet Food

My first fur baby was a 110 lb yellow labrador named Chico. He was the love of our family, and my young son would spend his allowance to buy him extra treats. My youngest daughter grew up with Chico, climbed all over him like babies will do and he was so patient with her. Chico was the best first dog any family could ever ask for. All he wanted was to be right next to you, like this close and have you give him attention all.day.long. Not too much to ask for right? 😉

In the summer of 2019 Chico hurt his legs and would not move off of his bed, would not eat, could not get up to go potty outside. We were worried but did not think it was too serious as he had been to the vet office the week before and we were told he was a healthy boy.

A visit to the emergency vet clinic ended up with us finding out Chico broke his leg, but worse news quickly came in- he had bone cancer. Chico was 11 years old and had been in our family for 9 years, we were devastated and came to the decision it was best to end his suffering.

My family – me, my husband and kids plus my mom, and one of my sisters and her best friend all came together to say our last goodbyes to Chico. We called extended family over Facetime so they could say goodbye too. And everyone who loved Chico was able to say one last goodbye and one last “who’s a good boy,” to him before he passed.

Grieving Chico was so hard for me and so heartbreaking to watch my kids grieve too. I had so many regrets after Chico’s death. I wished I had fed him better, bought him more treats and gave him more toys.

Going home to a house with no dog was depressing. No one to greet you at the door. No one to cuddle up with. No one to give treats to. We decided our family was happiest having a dog at home and made plans to bring a new puppy home.

A week later we welcomed Paddington, a Shih Tzu puppy into our home and a few months later my husband brought home Pebbles, a Rottie mix. After having so many regrets about Chico and missing him so much you can only imagine how spoiled our two new puppies became. (And still are in 2022!)

People who are passionate about their pets and want to provide them with the best quality of life know that the quality of food is important. There are many different types of dog foods on the market and it can be difficult to find one that is high-quality.

We recently tried NOW FRESH Kibble for our two adult dogs Paddington and Pebbles.

(If you’re wondering where to find Pebbles in the pic below just know she hates photoshoots and look in the lower right corner.)

I need you to know something about my dogs….they are so picky! Paddy once refused to eat for 2 days, I honestly thought he was sick. But nope, he just wanted me to go crazy and buy several dog food options until he liked one and would eat again!

I was a little nervous about trying a new food with them and worried they might not like it. That was NOT the case with NOW FRESH kibble!

The second I brought the food in the door the dogs were all over it, sniffing around and waiting to get a taste of their new kibble.

I can tell my dogs are more excited for meal time – they run to their bowls where before they would ignore the bowls for most of the day, letting the food sit there.

Why We Love NOW FRESH Kibble

I have definitely fallen in love with the NOW FRESH kibble because I know my dogs love this food and it’s good for them! A dog’s diet is very important for their health, and it can make a huge difference in their life. I will continue to feed my dogs high quality dog food because I want to make sure they have the best possible chance of living a long and healthy life.

My favorite memory of Chico is one night when I was upset and crying. I sat on the floor next to him and he rested his head on my shoulder and huffed at me. Almost like saying “I’m always here for you don’t cry.” He then threw himself on me (all 110lbs) and begged me to give him a belly rub.

As a family we were lucky to have Chico, a healthy, loving dog, for so many years of companionship. Now, we are fully focused on keeping Paddington and Pebbles happy and healthy.

NOW FRESH kibble is helping us keep our pets happy and healthy. I love how excited they are when we fill their food bowls! I can tell they love this kibble because they don’t let the kibble sit in the food bowls all day. They are super quick to eat it up every morning.

You can find where to buy NOW FRESH kibble using their store locator, or purchase on Amazon. We recommend NOW FRESH kibble and will continue feeding Paddington and Pebbles NOW FRESH products.

I love seeing my dogs happy, especially at meal time. And knowing they are healthy gives me such peace of mind, I’m hoping they will be healthy and part of our family for many more years to come!
