Who loves reading and a challenge? This girl, right here!
I love reading and always have been a reader. Once, when I was in middle school my aunt decided that her daughter had too many books and put them all in black trash bag and gave them to me.
Seriously, one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. Thanks Coral! Sorry your mom gave me all of your Dean Koontz books. But, they went to good use and I still own them because Dean Koontz is like the best author ever. Totally rocks, he’s brilliant and very, very talented!! I even got my best friend into reading his books, hello to my best friend, Amber! We love Odd Thomas, any Oddie lovers out there??
Anyways…I really want my kids to share in my love for reading. Hate to say it but video games are ruining it! There is so much to be discovered in a good book! I just want them to know that. So, I started telling them about the “Family Reading Challenge” where each month each one of us reads a book and we can win little prizes like:
- Stickers for the little one
- $5 gift cards (I really love Chick-Fil-A)
- family outing (we gotta brainstorm something frugal since we are on a budget)
- ice cream party night
- Give me more small prize ideas in the comments!
And don’t ya know…They loved my idea. I’m like a genius-super mom! Well, they really didn’t put it like that. But I could tell that my toddler totally wanted to say that, she just didn’t know how to say it. But I taught her 🙂
I whipped up two reading challenges. One for my husband and I and YOU of course, and one for the kiddos! CLICK HERE and you’ll get the free PDF to print. I left a space so you can write in the book you choose, you’re welcome 🙂
Here’s the challenge but I recommend printing one page per family member and placing on your fridge. Happy Reading!
