Easy Side Dish For Busy Moms: Herdez Beans

Growing up my Grandma and my Mom would make the most delicious Mexican dishes. My Grandma was an expert cook and she’d make us mole, homemade tortillas, rice and the best beans! I still think my mom makes the best rice ever. But my Grandma’s pinto beans were always my favorite. You could eat them in a bowl with some shredded cheese or mash them and make refried beans to use as a side or in tacos.

Herdez beans are the perfect side dish for busy nights!

I feel like these days I don’t always have the time to make homemade beans. Don’t get me wrong–I still love homemade, but I was introduced to Herdez Instant Refried Beans and couldn’t believe the flavor. They really did taste so good. The kids didn’t even notice they weren’t homemade.

These beans are perfect for those busy days. I work and so does my husband, the kids have football and altogether we have 5 kiddos around the house. I need side dishes that are delicious and simple.  I found a winner with these instant refried beans! xavier-herdez-post

Last weekend my husband brought home tacos. I whipped up these beans and our meal was complete. Easy peasy, less than 10 minutes total! When you have a busy family you don’t have to sacrifice taste. Find good products and stick to what works. I absolutely love Herdez brand products. If you check my recipes you’ll see I make my Salsa Chicken with Herdez Salsa.

  2. YUM! I’ve never tried making refried beans and will have to try it out. My oldest’s favorite “snack” right now is cans of beans. He can’t seem to eat enough food right now and might eat the entire packages worth! LOL
