Friday Favorites

I don’t know how I make it through the week. Seriously, sometimes I blink and I feel like Friday has *POOF* just appeared out of nowhere! You might think it’s a good thing that my week flies by- it’s not. I can barely keep up!

But anyway, we made it to the weekend and I’m sharing my Friday Favorites. I only do these posts once a month, on the first Friday of each month.  So I usually have a whole month of pinning, using and really getting to know what I share for you.

By the way, if you like the idea of a hand curated list of goodies just for you, you should sign up for The Resource Page it’s free!

THE FITBIT BLAZE

friday favorites

I loved my old Fitbit but it was definitely time to upgrade! After reading what felt like hundreds upon hundreds of reviews I ended up buying the Fitbit Blaze. (I was looking into an Apple Watch but the Fitbit reviews were better.) And I’m so glad I have my Fitbit Blaze.

I use it to track my steps, calories burned, how many flights of stairs I climb per day and to track my heart rate during my workouts plus the amount of miles walked each day. That’s a lot of tracking!

I get two 15 minute breaks at work and I use those to walk, I burn about 165 calories during each walk. I also workout most days at a gym around the corner from my work, I do a 30 minute cardio or weight lifting circuit during my lunch hour. Having the Fitbit is convenient because it connects to my phone so I can change music and view texts all from my watch.

Looking for a fitness tracker? Check out all of the reviews on Amazon, that’s where I looked.

THIS BLOG POST

Lizzie is a blogger over at Create A Peaceful Home, I don’t know her personally but I did sign up for her email list. One day I came across a post titled “Let Your Husband Be A Man.”  I thought this post was so good I sent out a link to it to my own email subscribers! So I’m sharing it with you today incase you need some encouragement for your marriage.

#5 is something we’re both working on in our home–giving him time to pursue his interests.

My husband loves MMA. Before we met he went to a mixed martial arts gym about 5 days per week. Fast forward to a wife and 3 kids later and although he still had a love for the sport, my husband hadn’t been near a gym in about 4 years!

About 2 months ago my husband started going to a new MMA gym near our home. He’s lost about 20 lbs (so jealous) and he talks about what a stress reliever the gym time has become for him.

For me, it’s kinda rough. Once I’m home from work at about 6pm, he’s walking out the door to the gym and I’m home doing dinner and night routines with the kids. I would never ask him to stop going though, I know how important it is for him to pursue his interests and I’m grateful and glad he’s chosen a sport that will help him get and stay healthy.

CONGRATS TO THE GRADS!

I had no idea that decorating a graduation cap was a thing. I so would have done this when I graduated from nursing school. And now I want to go back to school…

  1. Haha I love this Friday Favorites post. That Fit bit Blaze would make a great Father’s Day gift and as far as giving your husband time to pursue his interests- I think that goes for everyone in the marriage (kids included). We all need some time to be ourselves, by ourselves. (I’m learning how great some alone time is right now!)
