Have you ever been bitten by a flea? Or worse, have your kids ever had a tick on them? Ugh, just the thought of fleas and ticks creeps me out.
As dog owners we experienced problems with fleas a few years back.
We were taking care of Chico (my sister’s dog) for the summer and somehow he got infested with fleas. His belly was red all over, he couldn’t stop scratching and biting at himself and no matter how many treatments and baths we tried we just couldn’t get rid of the fleas.

Fast-forward to this year and you’ll see we’re all about preventing fleas and ticks for our new dog, Lola. 
Isn’t she a cutie? And she’s sweet too. We adopted her from an animal shelter and I can’t get over how much we lucked out with her.

Great article! I wish I would have read your blog before I went camping with my dog Sage. Last month My dog Sage and I went camping for the first time. Prior to the Curvier River campgrounds, I used frontline and assumed Sage would be safe… Boy was I wrong. I go further detail into what happened and how I was able to get rid of lone star ticks in 10 mins.
