Is the Teami Green Tea Detox Mask worth it? What about using a DIY green tea face mask instead? Which one works best?
We all know finding the right skin care products can be time consuming. It took me years to find the best products to get my skin acne free and younger looking. Seriously, years….Like not ‘till my 30’s was I actually caring about finding the right facial care products.
Let me tell you about my skin care journey. As a teen and young adult I had OILY and ACNE filled skin. I was self-conscious about my face for years! At the beginning of 2020 I met an esthetician with the most beautiful looking skin. She recommended Tretinoin and an Obagi system. I came out of 2020 with the best skin of my life!
{I started using Dear Brightly for my Tretinoin prescription and now am using Hers.}
And I weaned off Obagi (it was pricey) and realized I could swap the expensive skin care products for products from the drug store and my skin was still doing good!
Now that we’re towards the end of 2021 I’m still using drug store skin products with the exception of the Team Green Tea Face Mask. You might be wondering if face masks actually work, (they do) and if this one is worth it (it is).
So if you are wanting to leave 2021 with better skin, keep reading girl, I got you.
Do Green Tea Face Masks Really Work?
You might be thinking: what’s so great about green tea?
According to Hasan Mukhtar, PhD, green tea has antioxidants that are very potent and can counteract the damaging effect of free radicals. Green Tea also has Catechins which are known to be anti-inflammatory and anticancer agents.
A 2019 study found when applied topically, solutions with tea extracts produced an anti-inflammatory response.
I also found an article in the National Center for Biotechnology Information website about a green tea study stating, “Green tea and EGCG have beneficial health effects and no severe adverse effects.”
Allright, so we’ve established that green tea has antioxidants and can help with inflammation.
Why is this important? Because, acne is inflammation! According to this article acne is a chronic inflammatory disease of the sebaceous-pilosebaceous unit.

Teami Green Tea Mask Vs. DIY Mask
I used to be all about DIY and with some things (like my hand soap) I still am. My old green mask was made from a powder that turned into clay when mixed with water and apple cider vinegar.
My DIY mask stung my face, made a mess, caused redness on my face and smelled bad.
It was not pretty!
With the Teami Green Tea Mask I have nothing to mix, it’s already ready and literally I just need to apply it to my face and wait 10-15 mins.
The mask smells great and I have not experienced any redness or sensitivity to my skin. I do have oily skin so I like to use a mask 1-2 times a week. I did notice the first time I used the green tea mask I had a pimple right at my jawline and the next day it had dried out.
What it’s made of
Made with organic matcha green tea, lemongrass, and bentonite clay, and formulated to rid pores of impurities while replenishing the skin with necessary superfood nutrients.
The Green Tea Detox Mask is Cruelty-Free, Vegan, and made with Organic ingredients. It’s also hand- prepared in small batches in Florida. There are 100s of reviews on this detox mask, make sure to check them out!
Allright, we’ve gone over and under it, bottom line: this stuff works! Yes, the Teami Green Tea Face Mask is worth it.

Green tea face masks are indeed gaining popularity for their skin-enhancing benefits! Green tea is rich in antioxidants, which can help protect the skin from damage and improve its overall appearance. Many people find that these masks help to reduce redness and irritation, making their skin look clearer and more radiant. Plus, the natural ingredients are a great alternative to chemical-laden products. If you haven’t tried a green tea face mask yet, it might be time to add it to your skin careroutine for that extra glow!
