Thinking About Making The Switch To Green Cleaning Products?

This post has been sponsored by Art of Green. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Are you thinking about making the switch to green cleaning products but don’t know where to start? I’ve been there too and have a few tips to help you transition into green cleaning.

Why should you switch to green cleaners?

If you look at the labels on traditional cleaning products you’ll find tons of toxic chemicals which are harmful to people and pets. When you choose to use green cleaning products you’re creating a safer home for yourself, your children and your pets!

I chose to switch to green cleaning products when I learned about the amount of chemicals in all the cleaning products I had in my home. I hated cleaning because I hated breathing in the fumes of all those cleaning products. I also had young kids at home helping me clean and I didn’t want them to come in contact with toxic chemicals if they didn’t have to.

So I decided to make my own cleaning products. This took up a lot of time, researching and trial and error.

While I still make my own foaming hand soap and cleaning spray, I also use (and love) Art of Green® products. I keep them on hand for when I run out of my own cleaning spray or when life gets too busy for me to make my own spray (happens a lot).

Making the switch to green cleaning is a personal decision. My best advice is to do some research and find out for yourself just how many toxic chemicals are in your favorite cleaning products. Doing just that helped motivate me to switch to green cleaning products.

Start with small changes in your everyday routine.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you find out how many of the everyday items we use have toxic chemicals! You might find yourself wanting to switch out ALL of your products at once.

Don’t do that though!  Give yourself time to research new, green products to find out what works best for you and your family.

What you can do is start by swapping out the items you use most often. These might be things like dish soap, cleaning sprays and hand soap.

I started with swapping out my cleaning supplies for green cleaners and swapping out napkins for microfiber cloths.

This was a simple start and gave me momentum to keep researching and keep swapping.

Eventually I swapped our shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap. I am still searching for a dishwashing solution I love and haven’t made the switch to green laundry soap. And that’s okay.

Green cleaning is healthier for you and the planet.

Using green cleaning products (instead of traditional cleaning products) can help improve the overall air quality in your home. Think about it – you won’t have those toxic fumes in the bathroom! And you will limit the amount of toxic chemicals that get washed into the environment.

Switching to green cleaning products was easy for me – I want my home to be as safe as possible for my kids and my pets!

My puppies tend to get dirtier than my children and it feels like I’m constantly cleaning up after them. (#DogMomLife) I feel good knowing the cleaning products I’m using are safe to use around pets.
