Easy Valentine’s Day Treats

Easy treats to make for Valentine's Day.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Gotta love quick and tasty treats to share with your family and friends.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

  • Parchment paper
  • 2 (or more) bags of pretzel rods
  • 1 container of CandiQuick or your favorite chocolate melt
  • sprinkles
  • other toppings: coconut flakes, chopped nuts
  • Directions:
  1. Melt chocolate as directed by package.
  2. Dip pretzel a little more than half way. Tap off excess chocolate.
  3. Immediately top with sprinkles or desired toppings.
  4. Lay on parchment paper to set.

**Notes: one recipe I found suggested using melted chocolate chips and that did not set well, I prefer the CandiQuick, it’s easier to use and melts perfect in the microwave.

CandiQuick easiest chocolate to melt for cake pops or pretzels.

Easy Cake Pops

  • 1 box of chocolate cake
  • container of chocolate frosting
  • 1 container of CandiQuick or your favorite chocolate melt
  • sprinkles or other toppings as desired…ie:nuts, crushed cookies
  • styrofoam holder
  • clear treat bag
  • Cakepop sticks

Directions

  1. Bake cake as directed on box and let cool completely.
  2. Crumble cake into fine pieces in a large bowl–best done with your hands!
  3.  Add in 2 tablespoons at a time of the frosting. I don’t even think I used half a jar. You want your mixture to be moist to hold a ball shape but not too moist. The biggest mistake is using too much frosting.
  4. Gather some of the mixture and roll into a ball–I used an ice cream scooper. I got about 18-20 cake pops out of one cake, they were pretty big. You might get double that amount if you use an mini scooper.
  5. Melt one square of the CandiQuick. Dip your cake pop stick in the melted chocolate and then insert a stick into each cake pop. Freeze for 20 mins.
  6. Melt your CandiQuick, making sure you have more than enough for your cake pop to be submerged compeltely.
  7. Dip your cake pops into melted chocolate, tap excess chocolate off. Quickly add sprinkles or other toppings.
  8. Stick into styrofoam holder and let dry. They will set quickly.
  9. Final step is adding a treat bag and tying with a ribbon. I got all my supplies from Walmart near the party supplies section. Easiest Cake pops!
