Easy & Kid Approved Banana Almond Butter Shake

This post is sponsored by Sensible Portions but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

My kids are hungry monsters by the end of the school day. Sometimes I struggle with quick and easy snacks to offer during the week. The easiest (and fastest) way I found to whip up a snack is usually a smoothie or shake. This banana almond butter shake is easy to make and kid approved for taste.

Our Banana Almond Butter Shake is sweet so we like to add a snack that hits the salty taste we need this time of day.

That’s where the Veggie Straws come in! Veggie Straws combine potatoes and ripe vegetables to form a snack that has 30% less fat than the leading potato chip. Veggie Straws are non-gmo and do not contain any artificial ingredients or preservatives.

We picked up a variety pack at Walmart which included 12 bags: 4 Cheddar Cheese, 4 Zest Ranch and 4 Sea Salt flavors. The Veggie Straws are crunchy, savory and a perfect snack for us after school.

Easy Banana Almond Butter Shake

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon MaraNatha Almond Butter
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1 scoop of collagen **optional I use collagen to add a protein boost.
  • For a sweetener: you can add 2 dates if your banana is not sweet enough or a bit of honey or maple syrup.

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

This Banana Almond Butter Shake is so easy and quick to whip up. I left one on the table to photograph and by the time I walked back over it was gone – my daughter drank it while I was turned away!

As you can see this  growing girl loves her snacks. And I love simple snacks that are healthier options and give me more time to spend with my kids.

You can find Veggie Straws and MaraNatha Almond Butter over at Walmart.
