Just In Time For The Holidays, Our New Dog Lola

Are you a dog lover? We are dog lovers over here and recently my sister took back her kids and her dog that we’ve been caring for. (She’s in the military so we had the kids and the dog for a few months to help her out)  The house felt so empty ever since my 2 nephews and Chico (a 100 lb yellow labrador) moved out.

The worst of the loneliness hit when I would get back from running the kids to school in the morning. I’d unlock the door and expect to be greeted by Chico’s bark. Instead, silence. Nothing.

No one home to greet me! Kinda sad!

I could tell my kids missed having a dog too. My son has a huge heart for animals.

So….my husband and I decided to adopt a dog from our local animal shelter. We picked up the newest member of our family last Saturday.

Meet LolaKrisers Natural Pet store.

Lola was the first dog I saw at the animal shelter. I noticed her beautiful eyes and how calm she remained when my 3 yr old little monster daughter was near her.

We welcomed Lola into our home with new toys, a comfy dog bed and best of all lots of love.

We don’t know much about Lola’s history. Our vet says she’s healthy and is about 2 years old. Lola’s a labrador/border collie mix.

We know she’s smart and she’s a gentle, sweet dog.

She’s terrified of brooms and mops and she won’t play with the toys we initially bought her.

Krisers Natural Pet store.

Yesterday, me and Lola drove to Kriser’s Natural Pet store in the Stone Oak area.

Lola was greeted with so much love from the employees of the store and even a customer!

As a new owner of an adopted dog, I felt so comfortable asking Kriser’s employees questions and voicing my concerns.

I loved the feedback I got because I knew it was great advice from people who truly love dogs and want the best for them!

Kriser’s Natural Pet store stocks items that help pets live happier, healthier lives naturally. Each item in the store is personally approved by the founder, Brad Kriser.

We found a ton of toys and I let Lola sniff around and pick a toy out.

Lola got a new ball made out of 100% wool and 2 bags of treats that she just had to have! The best part was that once we were home my kids took Lola outside with her new toy and she loved it. We all laughed as we watched her dart around the back yard.

It’s nice to see her personality shine through and we can’t wait until she gets used to being in our family.

Kriser’s carries pet food that is free from corn, wheat, soy or byproducts. The high-quality, whole food ingredients are also free from unusable fillers, chemicals, additives and artificial preservatives.

The quality of food is so important for the health of our pets.

I absolutely loved the customer service, education and environment at my local Kriser’s Natural Pet store. I plan to take Lola back next week for grooming!

When you arrive at a Kriser’s store don’t forget to check out the cutest, gourmet dog treats! I really (really, really) wish I could have had one, they looked so good. And now I want a cookie!

If you’re looking for the highest quality items with good ingredients for your pet you need to check out Kriser’s. I had such a positive experience there and am so happy I found a good company and good people to help me figure things out with Lola.

Dinah from DIY Inspired put up such a cute video of her pug at Kriser’s you have to see it, you can watch it here.

We have adopted two rescued dogs. My best advice to have a lot of patience. These dogs have experienced things that we don’t know of. That requires a lot of patience as you work through the problems!

  7. Lola has stunningly beautiful eyes. I applaud you for adopting a dog from an animal shelter. I have 2, but they were both brought home as puppies from litters that people were giving away. Once they pass, I plan to adopt. Puppies are tough and there are so many dogs just like Lola who need and would love caring home.

Hi Erin, thank you! I knew we couldn’t have a puppy, they are a lot of work and my 3 year old is very rough! When we talked about bringing a dog home we knew we couldn’t get a puppy. I fell in love with her eyes, she was the first dog I saw in the shelter and I was so worried someone else would adopt her before we could!

  23. Lola reminds me of our late dog, Tess. We adopted her from a shelter too. She was the best dog we could have asked for, and really good with the kids (who didn’t come along until after we’d had her two years). We would love to get another dog, but I don’t know if we’d find another one so good!
