Self-care for busy moms

Spring Self-care Ideas for Moms

Being a mom it may feel like it gets harder and harder to do things for yourself and by yourself. I’m all about self-care over here and I think it’s so important, especially as moms that we take care of ourselves because if we are not taking care of ourselves we can’t take care of our kids, we can’t run our businesses. Without self-care it’s like a ticking time bomb waiting to explode into a mom-meltdown.ย

ย Self-care ideas for moms that are perfect for spring

Some ideas may take you a whole day (like deep-cleaning) if you really get into them . And some may take you just a few minutes. Please be sure to schedule your self-care into your days and weeks and months. Don’t put yourself at the bottom of your To-Do list.

Look around you

Anxiety and bad moods can creep in because you’re overwhelmed by the clutter in your home. Pick one problem area and look around, what can you get rid of?

  • Miscellaneous gadgets and cords hidden in drawers
  • Clothes that don’t fit.
  • Shoes you never wear.
  • Paper clutter – go through that pile of mail!
  • Products. This includes cleaning products, beauty products, even boxes of food in your pantry. What can you get rid of or use up?
  • Deep clean the biggest problem area in your home.

Keep it simple

  • Sit outside and people watch or listen to music and soak up some Vitamin D.
  • Run a bath and use a body scrub before shaving.
  • Plan for a nap.
  • Read a book.
  • Sit quietly.
  • Make a spring playlist filled with new music.
  • Go for a walk.

Be a plant mom

  • Go to a nursery and buy easy to care for plants. My favorite are pothos and aloe plants.
  • Plan your vegetable garden.
  • Plant new flowers around your home.

Set goals and review your progress

  • Set goals for the rest of the year.
  • Review you the last few months. Have you made progress towards your goals?
  • Make a list of steps you can take to reach your goals.
  • Edit your life. What do you need to stop or start doing to reach your goals?
  • Create a vision board

Self-care for moms doesn’t have to be complicated. Pick something you love doing and make time to do it!
